Religious Bigots in the Voting Booth

Atheist know more about religion than the religious - shocker!  This is so frustrating when people want to make laws based on their religion but do not actually know what their religious texts say.
"You know who is well versed in religion, and well-informed too? Atheists, that's who. They were among the top scoring groups on Pew's religion pop quiz. Mormons also scored well. (You can test your own knowledge with questions from the quiz here.)"

Are You Smart Enough to Be a Religious Bigot in the Voting Booth?

If a Country Set Rules for Slaves...

If a country set rules for how to treat your slaves, wouldn't that imply that the a country government thought it was acceptable to keep slaves?

Yet More Sexism in the Atheist Community

"As to your question why you dont see more athiest women? Its beacuse they are generally weaker. They dont want to make waves, they dont want to hurt someones feeling ar risk having their own feelings hurt."

- And here it is, as explicit a comment of sexism in our community as I have ever seen but it is a feeling that runs through the community. I have seen women are too emotional to be an atheist, not rational, or too afraid.

This is from one of my facebook friends. He messaged me in he context of a longer message about the reddit discussion.

Wonderment is not a Reason to Sell Santa to Kids

Telling a child that there is a magical man in the sky who knows when are you are good or bad and rewards you accordingly is a lie, even when that man is Santa. Telling them Santa exists to encourage their wonderment or preserve their innocence is contrary to the arguments we make as atheists, and is utter non-sense.

Secular and Atheist are Not the Same Thing

Secular and atheist do not mean the same thing. It would be beneficial to encouraging productive conversations if we did not use these words interchangeably.

Pretty much summarizes how I feel about Christianity. This is an excellent video. Seriously worth a watch and saving for your next debate.
